Timothy was at the house at 7:30 this morning as planned for our trip to Bagjon.  I had to squeegee the windows on the green pickup because there was such  heavy dew that had fallen.  That doesn’t happen very often here. It was really cool this morning as well.

The village of Bagjon is far south of Yendi. On our way we drove through Bincheratanga. Timothy had a great idea at that time. He suggested we take the short cut through the bush to get to our destination. I would love to know how many miles we actually saved by going this way. It has been so long since I traveled this road I had forgotten about it.  During the rainy season the road is impassable.

We were happy to see the rain we got yesterday had extended to this area.

When we arrived we were greeted by the brethren.  The small church building was too hot to sit in so the men decided to have services under a mango tree.  We were not going to complain about that suggestion.  There was a denominational church about 20 yds away under another mango tree that used drums that made hearing difficult a few times. All in all services went very well.  It has been a long time since we visited this congregation so I took them a bench, metal strong box, bible, and communion items.  After services Kandie and I had the congregation use the church building as a back drop as she took several photos that we will have processed when we get home and bring back with us in August to give the Church.

Before we left the village the Church presented us with some yams and a nice white rooster. Later we told Timothy we were going to dash him the yams and rooster.  He said tonight before bible study that he planned on trying to keep the rooster for his hens instead of eating him. He liked the nice white feathers the bird had.

Part of the afternoon was spent getting the IRS paper work prepared to leave with Iddrisu so he can pay it while we are home this summer.  There are always lots of little things that must be done before we leave.

We hope you are having a good Lord’s Day.  Please be safe this holiday weekend.  May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
