While I am writing the notes; Steve and Marcus are cooking supper.  Today was another hot day; the high temperature was 117 degrees with a heat index of 149.  Steve and I tried to beat the heat this morning and walk a little earlier but it was still hot!

We hired Amina, Nazo’s wife again today to wash the containers for the seminar.  Amama and Zorash helped her.  All the things are stored from year to year in an outside storage room which is not sealed from the dust.  The things were not really dirty; just dusty.

Marcus and I spent all morning counting money.  We were proud when we finished our portion of the job.   We still have to have Mr. Iddrisu count the money in the envelopes, sign and seal them; he is going to do that tomorrow.

This afternoon Steve and Marcus took a load to Kulkpeni.  There are a couple lights that are not working that needed to be fixed.  Steve took a ladder so that job could be knocked out.  They also went to the tax office and got the receipts for the withholding tax for the nights we spent in Accra.  They picked up the formula and the baby cereal.  While they were in town they recharged the pre-paid card for the electricity.  Slowly but surely we are ticking off the items on our “To Do List”.

We got the upper poly tank filled with rain water.  There is still a little rain water in the reservoir.  It will all be gone by the time we get back so we are harvesting as much as we can.

The corn and the millet are sitting outside fermenting for the corn porridge.    We will grind it tomorrow.  Zorash came to the mission house this afternoon to let us know that she would not be able to come to work tomorrow because of her uncle’s funeral.  The funeral is in Tamale and that usually means she will be gone for 2 days.

Take care and please keep the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
