We were running around like chickens with our heads cut off today. We were so busy. Finally at 2:00 we grabbed a bite to eat. Steve had a peanut butter sandwich and I open a can of pork ’n beans, crackers and canned corned beef (minus the pork in the beans because they are packaged for the Muslim world and Muslims don’t eat pork).
Meri came to work today; her son is feeling a little better but still not able to go to school yet. She is so worried about him.
Divine came this morning to work on the ledgers for 5 of the churches. He got them finished and I got copies made of everything only to realize that we did not have everything we needed for the church at Tombu. Steve called and talked to Noah, one of the church leaders, and he is going to bring the document when he comes to the monthly class on Friday.
Shortly after Divine left Zorash and the secretary for the traditional council showed up. He had come yesterday and picked up the mission’s land papers. He said that he was going to try and get some signatures but he was afraid some of the people might be out of town. We were surprised when he came back today with the first batch of papers. Maybe it is possible to get something done quickly in Ghana! He has to visit a couple chiefs before we can move to the next step.
Mr. Iddrisu was feeling worse today so he did not come to work. We are afraid that if he does not go to the doctor he might end up with pneumonia. He sent his nephew to the mission house this morning to get antacid tablets. All the pain and cold medicine he has been taking has caused his stomach to hurt.
Today was Yendi’s big market day. On our way to the market we stopped by Mr. Adam’s shop. Mr. Adams is a fix-it man. He can fix almost anything. My sewing machine is sticking when I first start sewing which is very annoying! It probably just needs to be cleaned and oiled because once it starts running it will run well until it sits for a while. We also took him a steam iron that I bought a couple days ago. The cord does not have any insulation around it and it gets hot and makes it uncomfortable to use. He is going to make sure that it does not have a short and find something to wrap the cord in.
It is almost time for evening Bible study so I will close for now. Take care. Keep us in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
