Steve, Nazo (the day man) and his son Yahya spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon hauling sand from the mission house out to Kulkpeni.  In all they made 6 trips.  They are exhausted!  Dauda the mason is going to start plastering inside and outside of the addition we added to the church building last year before the seminar so there would be extra sleeping quarters for those sleeping over.  We had planned on getting it down earlier this year but it just never worked out.

Red, the part time driver / welder, finished the hangers for the razor wire.  We showed them to Dauda and he said that when he completes the Kulkpeni church building he will start on the wall.  We are not in any great hurry on that project; we told him he could take his time and do it between other jobs.

This afternoon Steve reworked the wheel barrow.  The front tire was sitting at a very strange angle.  He had to do some welding; some grinding and some brute force to get it back in alignment!   Hopefully it will last through this job.

Yesterday we went to see Mr. Adams, the “can fix anything man” to see if he could fix my blender.  I bought it in Ghana; it was imported from somewhere and it is cheaply made.  I only used it 2 times before it died.  I told Mr. Adams that it had “died”.  He said, “Oh, No, my sister; don’t say it died; let’s say it is just in “a coma”!   Maybe he will be able to resuscitate the thing.

This morning Zorash’s daughter PaNaa came to the mission house to borrow some aprons.  Her and a few of the girls from her school were going to do a cooking demonstration and they wanted to look like they were professional cooks.  She said they were going to make Jollof rice.  It is supposed to be for some sort of a contest but I don’t think there is really a winner or a prize for winning; mostly bragging rights.

Take care and thanks for all your help.  Please feel free to share the Yendi Notes with anyone that might be interested in the work.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
