This afternoon we got an email from the American Embassy to let us know that they are sending in another chartered plane to take Americans out of Ghana. The email said that we are on stand-by. We are praying that we will be able to get on the plane and not have to spend any more time in this apartment. This time the email included the form that we have to fill out promising to repay the cost of our flights. This flight is supposed to cost 2000 dollars just like the last flight. We have masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and a small spritz bottle with mentholated spirits (similar to alcohol). So we are ready to go! The email that we got told us to bring our own water and snacks; talk about an economy flight!
At the moment we are supposed to land in Dullus Washington. They said that was the plan for the moment but that too was subject to change. Our sister-in-law and niece were able to reserve a car rental for us when we land. It is nice to have friends and family.
Charity said that the owner of their storage unit was willing to give them a settlement against the damage to their property from the mice and the leakage. Of course it not near what it is worth but something is better than nothing and better than having to fight with them.
Not much else happening here; we have mostly been holed up in the apartment all day. We did get out this morning to take our walk but we had no contact with anyone. The count of infected people in Ghana is 134 with 3 deaths.
Take care and keep us in your prayers; as we will keep you in ours.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
