We are on our way home! Steve’s brother James (Jim) passed away today. His condition deteriorated after they put in three stints and were unable to stint the other arteries that were blocked. His family is devastated but they are at peace knowing that he was a fine Christian man. He will be greatly missed. Please keep his family in your prayers as they struggle through the next few days.
After many phone calls we were able to get a flight out of Tamale tomorrow morning at 8:00 to Accra. We will leave Accra, the capital city, tomorrow night at 10:30. We will arrive in Huntsville Monday evening at 8:40pm. We will leave for Ohio either Tuesday or Wednesday morning. The tentative plans are to have the funeral on Wednesday or Thursday. We are going to stay in the states for 2 weeks. We have to get back to Ghana because the seminar is at the end of November.
It is raining; such a pleasant sound. We have not had any rain in the past 3 weeks. It is now at the end of the rainy season so these showers are a blessing.
I am going to cut the notes short tonight because it is already 9:30 and we still have lots to do before we get the house ready to leave.
