The carpenter gave us his supply list this morning.  We are not carpenters or roofers but we can tell that he over bought for this project.  Fortunately, we had lumber left over from the pavilion project at the mission house.  The lumber had already been treated so that was one thing that we did not have to do.  The lumber was stored in one of the rooms at the back of the property.  Donkey and Mr. Iddrisu put the wood in the room after we finished the project.  They just threw the wood in there any old way!  It was an awful mess; all the sizes were mixed; Steve and I had to unload over half of the lumber before we could get to the sizes that we needed.  It was so hot in that room!  I thought I was going to have a heat stroke!  We waited until 4:00 to get the boards and we took ice water with us because we knew what was in store for us.  Steve had to load the wood on the rack of the old van because the green truck would not start this morning, so it is in the shop.  The roofer said that he could start as soon as all the materials are purchased.  Donkey got the facial (trim) boards painted this morning.  We will take them to Kulkpeni in the morning.  We wanted to make sure they were dry before we put them on top of the van.  I don’t think that the royal blue trim color will match the pale ice blue of the van.

The guy at the DVLA (Vehicle office) disappointed us again today.  He promised that our registration/ road worthy stickers would be ready today but alas they were not.  Steve called him several times today but that did not seem to do any good because we do not have the stickers yet!

Red came over this afternoon to get the measurements for the bath house doors that we are going to build at Kulkpeni.  Yes, we are going to try to do something else before the seminar!  The masons ran out of cement blocks today.  They lack about 100 blocks to fully close in the property.  The block molding men are going to come tomorrow and make enough blocks to close in the wall and to build the bath houses.  They will have to dry for 3 or 4 days before the masons can use them.

Mr. Iddrisu continued painting the living room this morning while we went to check on the project at Kulkpeni.  When we got back, we were in for a surprise!  Not only did he paint the walls green, he also painted the accent curio green!  It is supposed to be white; it is already white.  Why in the world would you paint it green?  Mr. Iddrisu said that he did not notice that it was white.  We are tired of the house being torn apart and are in a hurry to get the painting finished.  Steve got the white paint and repainted the accent curio to help speed the painting process up!  Two steps forward, one step backward and hurry up and wait are our mottos!  Ha!

Please keep us and the work in your prayers.

I got to ride in the old van today.  I like to ride in it because it has never taken me to the vet’s office!  We rode to the back of the property; Mom tied my leash to one of the pillars of the building they were pulling wood out of.  The grass was so tall; there were tons of grasshoppers but I had already caught myself a grasshopper this morning while I was playing on the veranda so I was not really hungry for another one.  Mom took my bottle with us; I drank the whole thing; another reason I was not partaking of the grasshopper in the tall grass.  I got a couple cockleburs stuck in my fur but not nearly as many as mom has hanging on her dress!  She will be picking them off for days!  She was not as smart as me; I stayed out of the tall grass!

I am getting braver around the water.  Mom put a big head pan filled with water on the veranda and she puts things in the water that I cannot resist.  My favorite thing is grapes!  They sink to the bottom but that does not stop me; I reach to the bottom and snatch them out as fast as I can!  The peanuts are a little lacking!  If I don’t eat them right away they get soggy and who wants to eat a soggy peanut?  Yuck!  I don’t like my food wet!

I am not a raccoon!
