Yendi Notes
Steve is out at Kulkpeni for the first day of the monthly class. Nana Bekum, the evangelist that has been sick and unable to attend the class for the past 3 months called Steve this morning to let him know that he had arrived safely at Timothy’s house. I am anxious for Steve to get back so I can get a full report on how he is doing.
I spent almost all afternoon working on the payroll for the next 3 months. I like to get it all counted and put into envelopes so we will know exactly how much we have to spend. Steve helped me for a while before he went out to Kulkpeni.
Mr. Iddrisu was not here again today; Nazo called him and he said that he thought he was feeling a little bit better. Tomorrow is his day off so that will give him a little additional time to get better. It is not hurting my feelings that he is staying home; no one wants what he has!
We bought 3 – 100 pound bags of shelled field corn from Divine. He needed to sell it and we use it to make weaning mix for the children at the Child Center. We have been waiting for a clear sunshiny day so we could put the corn out to finish drying. We thought today was going to be the day. We put out 5 large tarps and poured the corn out. The sun was out for a little while but the clouds kept covering it up. At about 2:00 Nazo told us that he thought it was going. We ran outside to get the corn. We got it in before the rain started.
It appears that the extra metal flashing Red put in the gutter stopped the leak in the house. It rained heavily for a little while and we did not see any leaks. We are happy to get rid of the buckets.
Alhassan, a man that used to work for my mom and dad as the carpenter’s helper was in a motor accident day before yesterday. He was riding a motorcycle without a helmet and he ran into someone on a bicycle. He landed on his head and was not able to talk all night and part of the next day. We sent a monetary gift to the hospital for him. The report this morning was that he was still in the hospital but he was doing better and was able to talk and recognize people. No trauma units here!
Please keep us and the work in your prayers! We appreciate all you do for us.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
