Steve printed 4 copies of the Social Welfare report; one will be sent into the Social Welfare department, one is to keep on file at the mission house, one will go to the elders at West Hobbs Street and one will go to the lawyer.  I don’t know if I told you or not but we got a new lawyer because the old one died.  The new guy does not really know much about us or the Child Center so he wanted the report to add to our file in case anything comes up.  We still have to get passport photos taken and get a tax clearance certificate from GRA (IRS) but the tax clearance certificate is only good for 1 month so Steve does not want to get it until next month.

I am happy to announce that I finished the quilt top I have been working on for weeks and weeks.  It is the one that is made from the scraps of hand woven 3 ½ strips of fabric that the people in our area make.  What a headache it has been.  The weave is so loose that if it is handled too much it frays!  I had to zigzag every seam and still it wants to fray.  I thought about ironing on a fusible interfacing to the back to help keep everything in place; I also thought of buying several bottles of fray check and putting it on all the seams but I can’t buy that over here.  I have enough scraps already cut to make another quilt top but I am going to put that on the back burner until I figure out how to finish this one.  It is a herringbone design and looks pretty good.  I am ready to start another project!  Ha!

In between rain showers Steve trimmed the bushes at the sides of the veranda.  They were taller than me and they needed to be trimmed before the rain stops.  Tichak likes the stands Steve made to hold up his mosquito net.  He used them for the first time last night.  Tichak has been on vacation and last night was his first night back.  Before he left this morning, he rolled the buckets into the corner of the veranda so they were out of the way.

Have a great day!

Today has been a good day!  It rained off and on all day; sometimes it rained really hard and I was so happy to be inside with my people!  Mom tried to convince Dad that I needed to stay inside during lunch because it was raining but Dad would not agree!  Spoil Sport!  He said that he did not want to get that started.  By the time we finished cooking lunch the rain had stopped.  Mom rushed out and got me when the thunder started again!

I made a mess this afternoon!  Imagine that!  I promise it was not really my fault.  One of the churches, Nakpa, sent a message that they needed communion juice and since the parents are going to drive past Nakpa in the morning on their way to worship with the church at Mpeasum they are going to drop the juice off at the church on their way.  Well, Dad had the juice in a box sitting on the chair in the dining room.  The box was too close to where I was and I could stretch just far enough to get a grip on the box.  When the parents were not looking, I pulled the box off the chair and 12 boxes of juice flew out on the floor.  As luck would have it one of the cartons broke open.  These boxes are waxed cardboard boxes sort of like the juice boxes the little kids drink out of only bigger.  When Mom came back in the room I had bellied up to the bar and was drinking juice straight out of the carton!  I drank until I was about to pop!  Needless to say, when it was time for my supper bottle, I could only drink a little of it!

Anyone want a juice box?
