We got up early to go to the funeral but as with all things in Ghana nothing was going on when we got there. We greeted lots and lots of people and then sat and wait for the program to start. There were over 500 people that attended the funeral. It was a lovely celebration. We were fortunate that there was a nice breeze blowing all morning.
After the funeral we went to the cultural center to do some shopping. It was rather disappointing; we did not find much to buy. But we did get to see the guys making brass beads, key chains, and figures using the “lost wax” method.
After we walked around the cultural center we went to a new mall and had Chinese food for lunch.
Barry Smith left Kumasi this afternoon; he was headed to Accra. I am not sure exactly what his schedule is but I think he is going to Takoradi and then on to Sierra Leon.
We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening doing nothing but visiting and resting. Jack and Dahlia enjoyed the Wi-Fi at the hotel and reconnected with their friends and family.
Please keep us and Barry in your prayers as we travel about the country.
In His Service,
Steve, Kandie, Dahlia and Jack
P.S. Please keep our niece Tera in your prayers as the doctors decide the best treatment for her breast cancer.
