It is raining and we fully expect the electricity to go off. It has already been off and on a few times. A little while ago we were at the hospital visiting Jacob from Nakpa’s wife Martha and the electricity went off. I asked the nurse in charge if she thought the electric company turned the electricity off or it just accidentally went off. She thinks it is accidental. Jacob is the guy that came in for class yesterday and then got a phone call that his wife was seriously sick with stomach pain. He went home and brought her to the hospital. Jacob has a motorcycle; I am sure that it was no fun for Martha to ride on the back of a motorcycle while she was sick. They thought they were going to have to transfer her to Tamale but she started feeling a little better today. She was able to sit up when we visited her.
Red came by a little while ago and he brought another metal strong box for us to look at. We were very pleased with this box! It is the best looking box yet, much better than that ugly box he brought yesterday. He said that it was going to cost a little bit more because the metal is heavier but it will be worth the additional cost. We gave him enough money to buy the metal sheet. He will collect his labor when he finishes the job.
We finished the accounting for the month; we are always happy to get that behind us. We stopped and picked up the sewing machine and the steam iron from Mr. Adams. Both seem to be working well. I wanted the steam iron so I could iron the suit coats we are buying for the men that come to class. My goal is to be able to buy enough so they will be able to wear them to the seminar if they want to. I know they are hotter than hot but the guys love looking important. I can’t imagine anything hotter than wearing a dark suit coat in 100+ degree weather. The suit coats come into the country in bales about the size of a square bale of hay. So they are terribly wrinkled. The steam iron did well getting the wrinkles out.
Mr. Iddrisu was back at work today. He was still moving around a little slowly and we heard him coughing but he looked like he felt better.
Anthony one of the evangelists stopped by to pick up some Bibles this afternoon. He stayed a while and visited with Steve about the churches.
Thank you for all you do for us.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
