When Timothy Niligrini arrived this morning we made our way towards town. Timothy was in luck this morning; a lady just down the road was selling Bofrot (sounds like Bofruit). This is a round fried ball that would remind you of a donut in taste but it has nutmeg as one of the ingredients. Timothy really likes them; we do too but they are very greasy. Anyway, after our stop we headed east out of Yendi to the village of Nanjuni to worship with the Church.
The brethren decided that Simon, one of the church leaders, would teach the bible class and I would give the lesson during the worship hour. I decided to teach the lesson I gave last week at Kulkpeni concerning dreams and visions. The congregation had 100+ in attendance including children. The Church was very pleased to get the usual gifts we give. After services we had questions about dreams that all of us have. I also explained that we have bad dreams sometimes when we are sick, fever, or eat a late meal before bedtime.
The village lost their chief last year so a man is temporarily taking his place . He wasn’t in the village today so we sent the kola money with a church representative to let the man know we were in the village. From there we got into the pickup with Amos, another church leader, to go over to his house to pray for his wife. The woman had a swollen right knee that has reduced in size with the help of some medicines but it is still bothering her. She is taking several types of pain medicines and they have her on an antibiotic. We had prayer for her and encouraged her to continue the meds that have been given by prescription. Several of her medicines were running out so I gave her some money to purchase more.
One of the ladies at services asked for a ride to Yendi Hospital. After dropping her off we backtracked down the street to a vegetable/fruit seller who had some nice bugless cabbages she was selling. Kandie bought some for us and she bought one for Timothy’s house also.
Later this afternoon Red, our friend, came by to tell us he had the 4 church signboards finished we had contracted for him to build. Two of the church leaders told me at last month’s class they needed a church sign; one had been destroyed and the other congregation had not received a sign because they were new. We decided to make two extras so they will be ready when someone else asks for a signboard.
Hope you had a good Lord’s Day. May God bless!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
