We are back in Tamale.  Please!  This is getting a little bit old!  This time we came to file  the annual return for the Child Center.  The Child Center is a non-profit, non government organization and you would think that since everything we do for the children is free they would make things easier for us.  I actually think that we do not have to jump through as many hoops as those running businesses that make a profit do.  I said all that to say that we had partial success today.  When we left the auditor’s office he was in the process of filing out the return forms.  After he got them filled out he was going to take them to the Registrar General’s office and have them filed.  He said that he usually does not leave the office in the evenings until 7:00pm.  We went by his office at 6:00pm and he had already left for the day.  We will check with him in the morning before we leave for Yendi to make sure that all the documents are in place.  We sure don’t want to make another trip over here unless we have to.

We did not want to spend the night in Tamale tonight.  We had hoped to get everything done early enough in the afternoon to get back to Yendi before dark but that is not the way things worked out. We brought an extra change of clothes, medicine and toiletries just in case we had to spend the night and we are happy that we did.  The man we ordered the formula from called and said that the warehouse did not get the formula to the bus station in time to get it on the overnight bus tonight so it would be coming sometime tomorrow hopefully in the morning.

We did a little shopping this afternoon but had a hard time finding a place to park the truck.  The population in Tamale has exploded!  There are so many vehicles and motorcycles and no provisions have been made for the vehicles to park much less for a place for the people to walk.  They allow the vendors to set up temporary shops all along the streets.  We finally parked at the lawyer’s office and walked around town.

Several days ago Steve realized that he was not wearing his wedding band.  We hunted all over the mission house for it.  We searched through the garbage and even checked the gloves he had been wearing.  We wondered if he had lost it at the hotel last time we were here.  When we checked in he made sure we got the same room.  We moved all the furniture and stripped the bed and flipped the mattress but did not find it.   A little while later the owner’s wife knocked at the door and showed Steve a ring and asked him if it was his.  We were so excited to have found the ring.   She said that the lady that cleaned the room after we left found the ring.  She said that she wanted to call us but she did not have our phone number.  I have been smiling all afternoon!

Take care and keep us and the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
