Boat, the air conditioner/ refrigerator repair guy got our freezer up and running!  He said that the compressor was bad.  He did not have one in his shop but as soon as we sent him the money he ordered one from Tamale.  It came on public transport this afternoon and he got the compressor put on the unit and filled with Freon.  He even had time to let it run a little while.  Steve said that when he picked it up it was making frost on the sides of the freezer which is a good thing!  Hopefully this will take care of the problem for a long time to come!  Boat said that the unstable electricity is what kills the compressors!  Not much we can do about that; we were running this freezer through a surge protector.

This afternoon we got all the receipts entered for April for both the Child Center and the general work fund.  Steve started the hand written accounts for the Child Center.  I enter the receipts on the computer with an Excel program but we have to turn all the receipts in with the accounts so we make a written account of the receipts to go along with the Excel program.  I said all that to say Steve got the accounts written through March.  We will not need these accounts until the end of the year but it seems to be easier to do them bit by bit instead of worrying about them at the end of the year.

Donkey sprayed the back yard for weeds today.  The tractor came and plowed the back field where Donkey and Mr. Iddrisu will farm.  We noticed that when the tractor plowed he turned up lots of stones.  We hired Donkey’s teenage children to pick up and pile the stones.  They are going to work today and tomorrow.  This morning when Donkey came to work he said that his wife Amina wanted to pick up stones too because she needed the money.  We don’t mind paying people that want to work.

When we went to the back of the property to see how the stone picking was doing, we noticed that the fields were on fire!  What in the world!  We have not burned the fields for several years because it is not good for the ground or the environment and they burn the trees.  The newly plowed ground was not on fire but all around the buildings and the wall were!  We asked Donkey why he was burning.  He said that he saw a big snake; a really big snake so he set the fields on fire trying to make it go!  Donkey is afraid of snakes and he will not try to kill one!  We told him setting fires was not allowed; he said he knew, he apologized and said that he would not do it again but that the snake was too big.  I don’t know where he thinks the snake will go; there is a 8 foot wall all around the property; how is the snake supposed to get out of the back field?  Donkey was scared and did not know what to do!  I am not sure that he knows the big snakes live in holes under the ground.

Red got a new clutch for my brother Paul’s truck.  He got it installed this morning; he has not gotten back from Tamale yet; he said that he had some things that he needed to do before he headed back to Yendi.  Hopefully all is well with him and the vehicle!

Take care.  Have a great day!

I got to run free this afternoon!  It was wonderful!  Mom decided that she did not want me to run free until Dad got the trees trimmed so today was my lucky day!  I did not even go to the trees that he trimmed; it looks very naked over there now so I spent my time running all over the big mango tree.  The tree is huge; I could run and jump across the tree faster than Dad could walk from one side of the tree to the other!  I am fast!

I had to go into the Time Out box today!  I bit Dad!  Now mind you in my defense he did snatch something from me.  I hate to have anything snatched out of my hands!  I think that once I have it in my hands it is mine and everyone should leave it alone!  I found a small packet of pills and as soon as the parents saw that I had it Mom told Dad to take it away from me.  Dad was quick and he snatched it right out of my hand!  That annoyed me because it was mine; I jumped on Dad’s hand and bit a plug out of him!  He was not really hurt; I got him with one of my eye teeth; he only lost a drop of blood but I got put in the Time Out box!  I cried and cried until it was time for me to come out again.  I was sorry and climbed up on Dad and took a nap.  Getting in trouble is exhausting work!
