When we take our morning walk we pass by a small lumber company. This morning we decided that we needed 2 more facial boards for the church building. We stopped and picked out the boards before we finished our walk. Might as well make the most of our walk! By the time we got back to the mission house and back to the lumber company they had straightened and planned the boards. We set Nazo to painting them this morning. The sky was dark and heavy with rain clouds so we unloaded the boards into the garage so Nazo would not have to move the lumber if it started to rain. Putting the boards in the garage was a good call; before we got them unloaded it had started to sprinkle. It rained most of the morning. Timothy Niligrini’s village that is 5 miles from Yendi did not get any rain.
Steve said that they had a good turnout for the classes today; 33 men attended the class. That is not counting Steve. Timothy taught the first session and Steve taught the second session. Today topic was “Tithing”. Almost all of the denominations in this area require their members to tithe. There is a lot confusion about how the church can get the money it needs for various projects and to pay the preacher.
Daniel Batoln’s wife was bitten by a snake last month. Daniel is one of the evangelists. We were happy that we had some money to help pay for ASV (anti-snake venom medicine). We will have to keep tabs on her to make sure that she is doing ok. Sometimes they do not get enough ASV initially and they have to get a second dose.
Francis, one of the church leaders told us that he had not been able to go out preaching in the past few weeks because his motorcycle broke down. Thanks to your generous donations for evangelism we were able to help him get a new tire and tube as well as a piston and ring job. Hopefully he will be able to get it fixed quickly and head back out preaching.
Thanks again for all you do for us and for the work. Without our faithful supporters we would not be able to do the work.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
