The monthly church leaders’ and evangelists’ class was today. We got up early to load the van and the truck. Today we had lots of stuff to carry out to the class. Steve gave each of the men a tire and tube for their bicycles; they also got a dress shirt and a couple ties so they will have something nice to wear to the seminar. We were also selling communion juice, Konkomba and English Bibles, paying the guys transport and recording baptisms and restorations. Steve also had to distribute the invitation letters for the seminar. Because there was so much going on I went out and helped.
First thing this morning Red called to say that he had finished the doors for the bath houses. Steve went on out to class and I went to Red’s house and picked up the doors. We were excited that he had finished the doors because the mason is planning on setting them tomorrow.
Just before we left Kulkpeni this afternoon we checked with John, the mason to make sure everything was on target for tomorrow’s work. We noticed that Red had not fully completed the bath house doors; he had forgotten to put on the side pieces that the mason uses to cement the doors into the walls. Steve had already left Kulkpeni; he had a van load of men that he was taking to Yendi to drop off at various bus stops so they could catch their rides home. The back of my truck was loaded down so I offloaded everything and rearranged the stuff so I could get the doors in the bed of the truck. I did not want to have to make another trip back to Kulkpeni. I am a pretty good packer; I had a plastic chair sitting in the passenger seat and the back seat was fully loaded. As I was going back to Yendi I called Red; he was not at home but he said that he would be there by the time I got into Yendi. I dropped off the doors. Red said that he was going to start working on them this afternoon and that we should be able to pick them up in the morning. Two steps forward and one step backward; that has been the way this whole project has been! John hired someone to back fill inside and outside the wall; they are doing a terrible job! We have no intention of paying them until they do the job right!
Please continue to pray for us and for the work!

Mom got up before 6:00 this morning so that meant I got out of solitary confinement before 6:00 this morning! That made for a very happy day for me; that is until I realized that Dad was going to leave the house at 9:00 and Mom was going to leave at 11:00. They stayed gone forever! At least I got 2 bottles of milk in before Mom left. I had lots of fresh fruit in my cage but that is really not the point.
Today is Halloween and Mom made a special outfit for me! She found an orange shirt that has long white sleeves with pumpkins all over them. The shirt says, “Cutest little Pumpkin in the Patch!” There is a goofy looking pumpkin in the middle of the shirt. She also had a hat that one of the ladies from Bethel made just for me. The hat sort of looks like a pill box hat; it is crocheted out of orange yarn with a black trim. She put a green crocheted hat inside the orange hat with a bit of it sticking out of the top of the hat for the stem of the pumpkin. She then stuffed the hat and closed the bottom to make a pumpkin shaped hat for me. It was so cute. She attached elastic under the hat so it would stay on. Well, it would have stayed on but I could not stand that hat! As soon as she put it on, I flopped myself on the floor and pulled it off. I really liked the hat so each time I took it off I would pick it up and climb back in Mom’s lap for her to try to put it back on. I thought it was quite a nice fun game but Mom did not; she desperately wanted a picture of me wearing that hat but it was not happening! She finally settled for a video of me with the shirt on and the hat hovering over my head! She was lucky to get that! This is the first shirt I have had that had long sleeves and I was able to take the shirt off too! I thought I looked good enough in my diaper with no shirt!
Happy Halloween
