Zorash came this morning to make up the extra day she took last week.  The Child Center is not open on Friday; I was excited about getting some real work done!  Before we could start working we had to go to the “naming ceremony” for Mr. Oldman’s new baby girl.  Zorash went with us.  We took the camera so we could take a photo of anyone that wanted to pose with the new baby.  Mr. Oldman had set up a couple canopies in his back yard and had rented some chairs for the guests.  I was so happy that they did not have the music blaring!  Sometimes the music is so loud that it will give you a headache.

After we finished visiting the new baby we went to see if we could find Osmon; the guy that is helping us with the land papers.  We went to his house to see how the paper work was coming along but he was not at home.  He was in Accra.  As we were getting out of the truck we saw Papa Zacharia, one of the watchmen.  He was riding on the back of a motorcycle.  When he saw us he had the driver turn around so he could come and greet us.  Osmon lives right beside the Balogu chief’s house.  We stopped to greet the chief and Steve gave him a little monetary gift.  Part of the land the mission house is on was purchased from the Balogu chief and the other part was purchased from the Gundogu chief.

When we got back to the mission house we started cleaning in the apartment.  There is one bedroom in the apartment that we have never gotten put back together since we replaced the roof last year.  We have been using the room to store stuff.  We took everything out of the room so we could scrub the floor.  Everything was covered in dust.  Steve put the bed back together and repaired the shoe rack.  We hung the mirror and put clean sheets on the bed; then we covered the bed with a huge sheet of plastic.  That is the only way we can keep the beds clean.  We did not hang the curtains because we knew they would just get dusty again.  We will wait until company comes to hang them.

We got a good rain this afternoon and it was clean enough that we were able to pump it into the lower poly tank.  We were very excited to see the rain and feel the cooler temperatures.  The watchmen will think that they are freezing tonight.

We spent the afternoon working on the paper work for the IRS.  We got another year finished; only 5 more years to go!  Ha!  Aren’t we the lucky one?

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
