This afternoon we went to town to buy formula and cereal for the orphan babies at the Child Center. I had the keys to the house sitting in my lap. When I jumped out to go into the market I did not realize that my keys fell on the ground beside the truck. After we finished shopping and went back to the truck the young man who found my keys was standing there waiting on us so he could return them to me. I was so happy to see my keys even though I never knew I lost them. Of course we gave the young man a “finder’s fee”.
Steve has tried in vain to get the old van to start. Today while we were in town we went to the mechanic shop and found Gomda. He is going to come out tomorrow and try to start it for us. It has not been run in 4 months so there is no telling what its problem is; probably just “old age”!
Mr. Iddrisu and Steve finished painting the walls in the living/dining room. After the paint dried we had to do a little touch up. It looks so nice, clean and fresh. We painted it a light green with white trim. We have to mix all the paint ourselves because the paint that they sell is so dark and bold that a whole room would give you a head-ache! There is so much pigment in the paint that it only takes a cup to tint 2 ½ gallons.
We hired Nazo’s wife, Amina, to help Meri and Amama clean the floors and wipe down the furniture. She is going to come again tomorrow. We have to take everything off the bookcases and out of the cabinets and wipe them down because that nasty fine black dust out of the attic got on everything ;even the stuff that was covered with sheets.
It is thundering; maybe we will get some rain. Divine stopped by this morning to thank us again for helping him with the roofing sheets to repair his round houses. He said that the carpenter finished the second one yesterday evening. He said that he no longer “fears” the rain. He said they slept in the houses last night and it was very enjoyable!
Thank you for the love, prayers and support. Without your help the work would not go on!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
