We could not get the VELD (road worthy) sticker renewed because the machine that prints the stickers is broken.  They are supposed to be sending one up from Accra or Kumasi or somewhere.  This VELD office services all of Northern Ghana.  They are going to have such a back log of stuff to print.  Normally we can get the inspection and the sticker the same day.

Zorash’s son Sherif called from school this morning to tell her that he was sick.  He boards at the school.  He is in senior high.  Zorash called her daughter and asked her to go and pick him up from school but she could not find the keys to the motorcycle.  Zorash said that something was wrong with his stomach and he was having serious stomach pain.  I volunteer to drive over to the school and pick him up.  We were not sure how bad his stomach was hurting and were worried that he might not be able to ride on the back of the motorcycle.  After we picked him up Zorash took him to the clinic and they loaded him up with antibiotics and anti-acids.  He will probably stay home from school for a few days.

The mechanic finished working on Timothy’s motorcycle and Timothy picked it up but he said that something was wrong with the clutch.  This is a new problem.  Steve told him to take it back to the mechanic and get it fixed; can’t be driving without a clutch.

Dawda, the mason stopped by for a visit this morning.  We were working in the Child Center; he came in sat down and made himself at home.  He is a nice guy and he really wants us to get started plastering the wall on the addition we put on Kulkpeni’s church building last year.  We fully intended to have it done before now but it is too hot to haul gravel and sand.  We will have to have some of the church members dig part of it from the river and the rest will have to be moved from the mission house.

Steve is outside pumping water from the lower holding tank to the upper tank.  I was trying to wash the vegetables when we ran out of water.  We hope to have enough water until the rain comes and fills the reservoir.  We have enough left to put fill the upper tank one more time.  If we are very careful a full tank will last 4 weeks.

Steve saw Divine for a few minutes this afternoon.  He is trying to find time to go back to Wa and help the churches with their paper work.  Now that his brother that had the ruptured appendix is out of the hospital he will be able to concentrate on other things.  He said that his brother is better and he can now walk around.

Thank you for all you do for us.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
