We talked to Jack’s mother earlier this afternoon. She said that Jack arrived a few minutes early. He was still sleeping when I talked to her. That “jet lag” is a killer!

One of the lepers came to the mission house this morning; he said that the lepers had nothing to eat and that they were hungry. We quickly bagged up some of the weaning mix that we feed the malnourished children and sent it with him to share with the other man. There are only 2 men left in the colony. Over the years some of them have died and others have moved back home. Once they receive the treatments they are no longer contagious but they still have to live with the disfigurements. We went to the market this afternoon and bought them corn and dried okra. We will take that to them tomorrow along with oil, tomatoes and other soup ingredients.

Zorash did not come to work today; she took her holiday a couple days early. Friday is Ghana’s independence day; sort of like our 4th of July. The ladies do not work on Friday so they are picking another day for their holiday.

I think I told you that Meri is pregnant; she left work early today because she had a headache. We did not know that she left because she told Mr. Iddrisu that she did not feel well and was going home. Steve called her and told her to go to the clinic and have her blood pressure checked. This afternoon after we went to the market we stopped at her house to check on her. She said that the nurse who took her blood pressure said that it was not too high but that it was not a good pressure either. From that we deduced that it was border line and needed to be watched closer.

Ibrahim the leper that is in the process of building his own house stopped by this afternoon to let us know that he had gotten the roof put on the house. He came to thank us for the used metal roofing sheets that we had given him.

Our niece Tera got to come home from the hospital; she will be going back today and tomorrow for future tests. Please keep praying for her and for the doctors.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work. We really appreciate the help.

In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
