Since we did not get to see the auditor last night before he went home we decided to stop by this morning before we left Tamale.  It was a good thing we did because there was one more document we needed to sign and the auditor needed us to approve his appointment with the new auditing firm he is working with.  He has joined with 3 other auditors.  He said it will be good for business.  You have to have an official letter for every business transaction.  We even have to have an “official” rubber stamp for the Child Center.  The stamp is not issued by anyone; the company designs their own stamp. Really!  What is the point?  But if it makes people happy for us to have a stamp then we will get a stamp.  When we left his office shortly before noon we were assured that everything was in order.

Divine called to let us know he was going to Tamale today to pick up some more forms.  He seems to have the worst luck with public transport.  Time before last when he and Timothy were coming back from Tamale they thought the roof on the bus they were in was going to collapse on them and kill them all.  They said that all the braces were broken and that the roof moved up and down over every bump in the road.  On top of all that the cargo rack on top of the bus was over loaded.  Last time he went the bus he was in broke down and they were stranded for several hours before they were able to catch another bus.  Today when he called he said that the police had stopped the bus and arrested the driver because he had no driver’s license.  Can you imagine?  Divine and a bus load of people were stranded in Sang trying to find alternate transportation.

The formula we ordered arrived in Tamale but the man who ordered it for us had an emergency meeting in another town.  The formula was addressed to him and he was the only one that could pick it up.  He told us that he would be back in Tamale around 2:00 and he had to come to Yendi so he would pick up the formula and bring it to Yendi and deliver it personally.  He thought he would be in Yendi by 4:00.  It is now almost 6:00 and we have not heard from him.  He might have to wait until tomorrow to bring it.  At least we are not in desperate need of it.

While we were out and about this morning we stopped by Tamale’s cultural center.  We wanted to buy a basket and fill it with goodies to give the owner of the hotel to show our appreciation for them finding and returning Steve’s wedding band.  The owners are Indian and we knew that she would enjoy some Indian treats.  She was so happy when she saw the gift.

Thank you for all you do for the work.  Please keep the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
