We awoke to a cloudy sky this morning. The house is quite dark when the sun isn’t shining.  It necessitates turning on the lights to keep from hitting your shins on some of the furniture.  Timothy Niligrini and I planned yesterday to visit the Church at Kpamang where Brother Divine lives.  I checked out the green pickup yesterday to make sure it was ready for the short trip.  When Timothy arrived we provided him a mask to wear while in the pickup and at services.  He had a plastic face shield that was attached to a pair of empty glass frames.

We took gifts to the congregation; metal box with padlock, metal communion board, pad and pen, Bible, communion juice and cups.  The congregation was very grateful for the gifts.  We sat outside even though it looked like rain.  The Church doubles as a school and the rooms are quite small so we were glad to be able to social distance.  My lesson was off the cuff and dealt with how the corona virus, other disease and death came into existence due to man’s sin in the Garden of Eden.  It wasn’t long after the closing prayer the rain started to fall.   After services Kandie distributed homemade sanitary pads to the ladies; they were pleased with the gift.

Timothy and Divine are on the board of directors with us for the Child Center.   We took the opportunity to have a board meeting after services. We were inside one of the rooms with a tin roof; the room had no ceiling.  It rained so hard we couldn’t hear ourselves think but we struggled through.  On the way to take Divine to his house we stopped at the chief’s house; greeted him and gave him kola (small monetary gift).  Divine told us he had some bad luck raising his pigs this year.  A couple of weeks ago his pigs got sick and he lost all 15 of them.  Ouch!  That is a big loss!

After eating our lunch we spent time unloading the rest of our luggage, separating it and putting it away.  We had also brought some items from home to give to the compound workers; spray cologne, shirts, scarves, matchbox cars, antiseptic for hand washing, pocket knives, body wash, t-shirts, etc. . Something for everyone!  The workers love it.

That is about it for the day. Hope you are having a good Lord’s Day. Keep us in your prayers.     Also keep the President and First Lady in your prayers as well!

In His service,

Stephen & Kandie Taylor
