Timothy came today to paint. The guys usually only paint for 4 or 5 hours a day. Timothy wanted to know if he could come earlier and stay longer and get 2 days work in on the same day. We told him that we did not care but he would be very tired if he painted for 9 hours. He said that he still wanted to try to do it. Nazo could not rake leaves today because it rained almost all day so he painted inside the garage. Of course Mr. Iddrisu was painting too. They got lots done and it is looking good.
Not many mothers came to the Center today because it was raining so I worked in the apartment instead. We cleaned and sorted. It is such a mess. We had to move everything to the center of the living and dining room so Timothy could get to the walls to paint them. Mind you nothing in this part of the house has been cleaned since the roof was off earlier in the year. Everything is still covered with plastic. We set Amama to washing stuff this morning. She set herself up a washing station on the veranda so she would be close to the reservoir. That woman sure can use the soap. I have decided that unless she can see lots of bubbles she does not think that anything is clean. She is using rain water and you know rain water makes lots of bubbles by itself.
This afternoon while Timothy was painting and Steve was putting furniture back together we made plans for this year’s seminar. Steve is going to have a couple of the guys from the congregation in Sunyani come up to be the guest speakers. Steve wants to give them their topics early so they will have enough time to work on them.
Zorash, the Child Center receptionist said that her friend had a tumor removed from her lower abdomen last week and that they gave her friend the tumor in a bucket and told her to take it to Tamale to have it examined by the specialist to make sure it was not cancerous. Can you imagine getting on a bus to Tamale with your bucket? And we thought our health care system in the states was messed up!
Timothy said that his wife Rita went to Jegrido, Timothy’s home village this morning. He said that he left all three of his children at home with his oldest child Isaac. Isaac is 12. Of course all the neighbors are aware that the children are there; hopefully they will help keep an eye on them. Timothy was not worried about them.
Thank you for the love, prayers and support.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
