We are sitting in the hotel in Tamale. We came over this afternoon to pick up Steve’s nursing license, the one we tried to pick up a couple weeks ago but could not because the network was down. Well, we got the same song today; the network is still down. They said that it came up for a little while yesterday but not long enough to do anything. They also said that the 2 people who can work on it have gone to Accra so no telling when it will be back up and running. They told Steve that the next time he was in Tamale to stop by and see if it was ready. It just makes me sick because that is a good way to lose all his documents and have to start over from scratch. At least he has the receipt from where he paid for his renewal. We decided to spend the night in Tamale because we need a break from cleaning and painting!
Nazo’s wife came back this morning to help us with the cleaning. Amama spent most of the morning ironing the clothes that have been piling up. I had to hunt for the iron this morning but then what’s new? We have to hunt for everything.
When we left the mission house this afternoon Mr. Iddrisu was just finishing up the trim in the living /dining room in the main house. Steve and I put the furniture in the rooms where the mason is not going to have to work on Saturday. He will be sealing the edges around the ceiling tile. Hopefully it won’t be too big of a mess and will only require a little touch up paint.
The air conditioner blower on the truck stopped working so we took it to Gomda, the mechanic this morning. We have a long 2 hour trip on Sunday and we would rather travel in an air conditioned truck; it makes for a much more pleasant trip especially with high temperatures of 115 degrees. He is also going to check the brakes; they have been using a little brake fluid.
Hope you have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
