The truck over heated on us last night when we went to Kulkpeni for Bible study.  The radiator boiled most of the water out of it before it cooled down.  Fortunately Timothy had some bagged water which is water that has been filtered; we were happy that we did not have to use river water or mud puddle water.  If we had to use dirty water we would have had to take it to the mechanic and have the radiator flushed out.  This morning Steve added coolant.  He did not find any leaks in the hoses or anything suspicious.  We drove it all over Yendi this afternoon and even ran it a little while outside of town.  Hopefully we will not have any more problems with it.

Steve and Mr. Iddrisu took the corn, oil, dried okra and tomatoes to the lepers this afternoon.  They were so happy with the gifts.  Our thanks go out to those of you who give us money for “whatever comes up”!  The Falani leper that we actually gave the Tom Brown porridge to yesterday said that he enjoyed the porridge so much.  He said that because they got the porridge he did not have to go anywhere yesterday to beg for food so he sat in his room; ate Tom Brown; drank water and enjoyed his day!  How sweet is that?

We went to town this afternoon to go to the telephone company and the electricity office but the phone company was closed and the electricity office said that there was no network today.  We figure that is the reason the phone company closed early.

The blender that Mr. Adams the fix-it man replaced for me burned out the first time I used it.  I could smell it getting hot; I continued to use it until it quit because I wanted to be sure that it was good and dead before I took it back to him.  Even Mr. Adams was doubtful that the blender would work well because he could not find the correct horse power motor to put in it so he settled for second best.  I had to finish the grinding with a hand held emulsion blender.

It is terribly hot here but the weather station will not stay plugged into the transformer so it keeps going off.  Steve worked on it this afternoon so maybe I can tell you what the high temperature is in tomorrow’s Yendi Notes.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
