We are back in Yendi. We had to have some copies of a booklet made this morning. It took them longer than we thought it would to make the copies but they look really nice. We thought that they would just make copies on regular paper but they actually took the booklet apart and made the copies, front and back then put the booklets back together and even laminated the cover of the booklet. We were impressed! It was well worth the wait.
Of course we did not just sit in the truck and wait; we went to the cultural center where they sell African artifacts, paintings and carvings. They usually have the same stuff every time we go but I found a few small things to buy.
Gomda, the mechanic got the air conditioner fan fixed and new brake pads put on the truck so it was ready to be picked up when we passed through Yendi on our way to the mission house. After we picked up the truck Steve went to the electrical shop and bought the replacement fans and lights for those that were ruined during the rain storm when the roof was off the house. I stopped and bought a bag of cement. As I was passing by the small carpenter shop at the end of the lane I noticed the men were waving at me. I waved back and then I noticed they were pointing at a stack of benches. Steve had order 10 benches to give to the churches a few days ago. The men started loading the benches as soon as I stopped. I noticed that several of the benches were very rough so I rejected them. They put a new leg on one of the benches but one of them needed a whole new seat. There was bark on the seat which was totally unacceptable. They are going to look for another board and make a new top. When we visit a church we like to give them a bench for a gift so we want them to look nice.
We talked to our daughter Charity a little while ago and she said that Taylor is feeling much better. Hopefully he is on the mend!
Hope you have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
