After worship service this morning we headed for the airport. The taxi that we flagged down was a rattle trap.  The back of the small car was not big enough to set both suitcases in so the driver lowered half of the back seat and pushed one suitcase up against the back of his seat and gave enough room for both suitcases to sit in a “L” shape. The back lift gate didn’t latch but the suitcases were not going to fall out on the road.  I tried to tell the driver that we wanted to go to the domestic airport and he repeatedly said to go to terminal 3 so off we went. Well, Terminal 3 is the international side of the airport so both of us tried to explain we needed to go to the domestic side to fly to Tamale. After much ado he drove us over to the domestic side.

The flight was not delayed so the trip went along smoothly. Every once in a while at the airport I would check the Flight Aware App to see how far Marcus and Evan’s flight was moving. Marcus said their flight from Amsterdam to Atlanta was delayed 20-30 minutes.

At the end of our flight the air was very bumpy due to the heat radiating up from the ground because the Tamale –Yendi area hadn’t received any rain to cool things off.  Red met us at the airport and we fueled up the van and headed for Yendi. We got back to the Yendi compound at 4pm. When we arrived we found out Mr. Iddrisu had not been coming to work because of his back. We are going to send him to Tamale Hospital to have him checked out. He has been missing a lot of work due to his condition.

Skeeter was a live wire when Kandie brought him into the house. He had been penned up for 4 days so he had a lot of “adrenalin” to burn off.

Tonight after bible study we left Kulkpeni and headed for the compound. Just outside Yendi there is a newly paved road that “Y” s into the main road into Yendi.  I noticed a semi moving toward the intersection but I thought he was slowing down. Well, I was wrong!  The driver kept on coming so I slammed on the brakes!!! You could smell the rubber burning on the truck tires. I thought sure he was going to hit us head on but luckily I missed the semi. I was so annoyed and scared after that event. The only thing predictable about these drivers is that they are unpredictable!

We received word that Marcus and Evan have safely landed at Huntsville Airport so now I can put my phone down and stop looking at the Flight Aware App. We have a lot of work to get started on this week so we will be busy.

Thanks for all you do for us. May God bless!!

In His service,

Stephen, Kandie & Skeeter
