It rained heavily during the night. We woke to clear skies but by the time we had taken our walk the clouds had started to gather. It started raining around 8:30 and rained on and off until noon. The reservoir is completely full. Nazo was the only worker that came to work today. Steve sent him home around 10:00 because there was nothing for him to do. Of course the mothers did not come out today because only a bad mother would bring her baby out in the rain. After all it was bitterly cold this morning! The low temperature was 71 degrees and that was some time in the night. Nazo sat on the veranda all huddled up. I felt sorry for him and took him something to cover up with. He was happy when he saw me carrying the cover. I wanted to tell him that if he would get up and get busy sweeping the veranda he would not be so cold but I refrained. Zorash went to Accra yesterday so she will not be back until Saturday.
Divine and his brother stopped by for a visit between showers. They were on their way to the hospital. If you remember his brother was in a motorcycle accident a few days ago. They did x-rays and said nothing was broken. He has started some physical therapy. Who knew that they had physical therapy at Yendi Hospital; a hospital that has no running water. Divine said that they were doing some sort of electrical treatments too. Not sure what that is all about but if it helps that is all that matters.
Abenada came this morning too. Abenada is John Kanbonja’s widow. Her son Micheal was admitted to the hospital and they asked her to go and buy antibiotics for him because they did not have any in the hospital (but they have physical therapy). Abenada did not have the money to buy the medicine. She knows that we are always more than happy to help with medical expenses. Divine gave her a ride back to the hospital. Divine, his brother and Abinata were all riding on the same motorcycle at the same time.
We made a couple trips to town today; once to check to see if the bicycle mechanic was around and the other to take the trash to the dump. Steve was not all that thrilled about going to the dump on a rainy day but I personally don’t mind getting wet. I made another set of curtains this afternoon. It was a good project for a rainy day.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
