Today’s high temperature was 120 degrees; we did not have much humidity so the heat index was 120 degrees also. It was 92 degrees in the office today. The office is attached to the master bedroom and we have not yet got the new air conditioner installed. We had to work in the office today to print the tracks for the upcoming seminar. We enjoyed today’s holiday; no one was around so we got lots of stuff done.
This afternoon one of the brothers from Niliyuundo came to the mission house. He brought the paper work from the church that we asked for a couple weeks ago. We thought he was going to bring Jakpumba’s paper work too but he said that they had not completed theirs yet.
I boiled eggs this afternoon to take to Kulkpeni tonight. We are trying to periodically show them some tricks to help prove that the things the fetish people do are just trickery. Some of the young men did not get to see the egg pulled into the bottle with a small flame. Steve told them we would show them that trick after service tonight. The young men live in the dorm at school so we only see them when they are home on break.
Iddrisu, the double amputee, came to the house this afternoon so we could go with him to see his handicapped bicycle. The bicycle needs a lot of work; it needs new upholstery on the seats, a paint job, a new metal floor plate and one new tire. We bought the bicycle from him and gave him the extra money he needed to get his artificial legs fixed. He was happy. After we get the repairs done it will look good. We will have to wait until Red gets back from Wa to do the repairs.
Red is chauffeuring my brother Paul around. They called a little while ago and were overnighting in Techimen. They will continue on to Wa tomorrow. They have had a smooth trip so far; they stopped in Kumasi and bought new tires for the truck.
Thank you for all you do for us and for the work! We really appreciate the help.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
P.S. We got word that our dear friend and long time supporter of the work in Ghana passed away. Ed Sevigne will be missed by all that knew him. Please pray for his wife Smokie; she is not in good health.
