We didn’t travel to the bush today. Instead we went to Kulkpeni for worship. The reason being I had business to discuss with the brethren after services so it just made sense to go there. It is great to see people in the daylight; especially the children. Most children don’t come in the evenings. Bro. Matthew Unidon’s two young boys were wearing matching white shirts with pink stripes. Before bible class started we were outside talking when we spied the boys. They got such a kick from Kandie taking their photograph; they were cute. Of course one photo leads to another so all the kids and guys got their picture taken.
Timothy taught a good bible class lesson about Moses and the golden calf. I taught a lesson about “what the Church can do”. There were 44 present for the services. I met with the church for about 20 minutes after services.
I told Kandie after worship service I wanted to go see Kyee’s house. Kyee is a Kulkpeni church member that we helped provide the used roofing sheets. He was very proud of his two room house. We noticed he had two round mud ball rooms that needed to be re-thatched. There were a number of leftover bundles of thatches from redoing our round houses so we asked Kyee if he would like some. A big smile came on his face as he said “Yes”. He needed eight bundles of thatch to do the job. Thus began our afternoon of helping church members. Timothy and Tichak said they could use four bundles of thatch each for their small jobs. Bro. Kwabena said he could use some sand to do his plastering outside his house.
At 3 pm we took off in the green pickup with eight thatches roped down. We dropped these thatches at Kyee’s house and headed back to the compound for eight more. After unloading at Tichak’s and Timothy’s house we stopped at Kwabena’s house and pick him and his uncle up and took them to the compound to get a load of sand. In the process they bought 5 bags of Portland cement and put on top of the sand. The old pickup was straining so I drove us slowly out to Kulkpeni. The men unloaded the sand and we decided to stay at Kulkpeni and wait until bible class instead of driving back and forth to Yendi.
That just about does it for today so I will close. Hope you have a good Lord’s Day and may God bless!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
