After 2 trips to the grinding mill we finally got the grain made into weaning mix.  The first time we went the electricity was off; when we left the mission house the second time the electricity was on but by the time we got to the grinding mill it had gone off again.  Zorash said that we should just sit and wait for it to come back on.  While we were waiting the storm clouds started forming.  I told Zorash that the rain was going to catch us but she thought it was not coming.  We waited for about 15 minutes and the electricity came back on.  We were the first ones in line because we had already come this morning.  They were almost done with the grinding and the bottom fell out; it rained and rained.  We were in a little tin building with a low tin roof; it was raining so hard that we could barely hear the grinding mill running; no one could understand what was being said!  After they finished our grinding we had to sit and wait for the rain to stop because our weaning mix was in large plastic tubs that had no lids.  We were in the green truck and if we had tried to load the weaning mix and go to the mission house the rain would have ruined it.  We sat at the mill for at least 45 minutes.  When the rain slacked off, I told Zorash that I thought we could get the weaning mix inside the truck if we poured it into 4 containers instead of 6.  We crammed 3 tubs in the back seat and one in the front passenger seat.  Zorash had ridden her motorcycle so she did not need a place to sit.  It rained most of the way back to the mission house so when I got here, I pulled the truck in the garage; cracked the windows and headed for the house.  Mission accomplished!

Donkey, the dayman, sprayed the weeds in the compound this morning.  I sure hope that it had enough time to work its magic before the rain came.  Donkey refuses to wear rubber gloves when he mixes the chemical; he said that he cannot work with gloves.  Well, he has the chemical all over his hands by the time he gets it mixed.  At least he does wear a mask while he is spraying and some sort of coat.

Divine, the guy that helps with the church paperwork came by this morning; he brought us a gift of freshly dug peanuts and several ears of field corn.  The field corn takes a long time to boil; we will have some for supper.  He brought the list of the expenditures that he had while we were in the states.  At least he knows how to keep track of things; he went to school to be an accountant but he would rather farm.

Take care!

I was in my cage during the big rain storm this afternoon!  I sure was happy when I saw Mom pull up in the truck after she had been at the grinding mill!  She must love me bunches and bunches because as soon as she parked the truck in the garage she trudged through the mud and rain without an umbrella and released me from jail!  I have been good all afternoon and have not had to be put in time out, not even one time!

The only problem that I had today was that the corn roaster ran almost all morning!  This time they were cooking the soybeans; they smelt very good but I did not get to try them but I have been eating a lot of the roasted corn.  One of the big tubs of corn has been sitting on the dining room table so every time I get a chance I grab a handful of corn.

This afternoon Mom gave me a piece of chewing gum.  I love chewing gum and I actually chew on it for a long time before I start playing with it or accidently swallow it.  Today Mom had a piece too and nothing would do but that I got my piece and part of hers too!

One day I will learn to blow bubbles!
