Gomda the mechanic is working on the truck; the water pump is leaking which is the reason it overheated Wednesday night at Bible study.  We are not sure if he is going to get it fixed in time for us to take it to the bush tomorrow.  If not we will have to take the van.

The men that were working on the cistern / reservoir finally came to work this morning around 9:30.  They said that they were going to come early but “early” could mean almost any time before noon.  Today they were chipping the plaster off the cement blocks in preparation for the new cement.  I am not sure why they wanted to take off the plaster but it is off now.  They were supposed to start making the rebar framework after they finished taking off the plaster but they said they were extremely tired and wanted to go home to rest.  We are in no great hurry so we did not care that they took the rest of the day off.

The rains should be coming by the end of the month so we had Nazo crawl on the roof and clean out the gutters.  He is going to clean out the ones at the Child Center tomorrow.

The electricity has been off and one today; not sure what is going on with it but right now the voltage is low; we will probably have to run the generator again later this evening.

Shamu’s mother came this morning to get the money we had promised for the new prosthesis for Shamu new leg.  Jack left enough money to take care of the cost.  He has out grown his old prosthesis; it is about 3 or 4 inches shorter than his good leg.  They will leave tomorrow.  Maybe he will come to the mission house when he gets the new leg and I can get a picture of him.

This afternoon we called Abdulla, the man that gets the motor king and motorcycle VELD stickers for us.  We wanted him to take the papers to Tamale next week because it is time for them to be renewed; he was going to Tamale tomorrow for a naming ceremony so our timing was perfect.

Steve wants to go to town and see if Gomda has the truck ready so I will close for now.

Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
