Nazo has been admitted to the small clinic near the mission house.  The doctor is not sure what is wrong with him.  We told him to get tested for the Corona virus but the doctor at the small clinic said that he would have to go to Tamale to get tested.  Steve called his doctor friend at Yendi Hospital and he said that the test kits are available in Yendi and that he could get tested at the Disease Control office.  We can’t have him tested while he is on admission at the clinic but as soon as he gets out we hope to convince him to get tested.  We need to know for our own safety and the safety of the other workers.  Nazo let his health insurance lapse so guess who is going to have to pay for his hospital stay?

The green truck would not start yesterday so Gomda came out and hotwired it so he could drive it to his workshop.  Later this afternoon he called to say that the problem was with the starter.  They fixed the starter and changed the oil but he found a problem with what he calls the gear box.  It needs to be sent off to be repaired.  We had to leave the truck in town overnight.

Steve called the Ghana Revenue office today to see if they had any luck with our Tax Clearance Certificate.  The guy was very apologetic but the network is still down.  Maybe all this waiting will make them look favorably on us when it comes time to figure out how much we owe for their services.  Ha!  Wishful thinking.

The Child Center is not open so we are struggling to find stuff for Zorash and Meri to do.  Amama has plenty to do in the house.  Today Zorash started cutting the fabric scraps.  We are trying to get them into various size squares that will be usable for quilting.  We are getting rid of all the odd shaped tails on the fabric.  Meri ironed the fabric for her.

Shiabu, the electrician, had to come back again today to work on the plugs in Nazo’s new office.  We also had him replace a couple of light fixtures in Mr. Iddrisu’s office.  I forgot that the fan in the guest round house was not working.   He can check that out on his next visit.

Steve sprayed the guest round house for bats this evening and he also sprayed the compound for mosquitoes.  Maybe the watchmen will be able to rest a little better tonight.  They sit / sleep under mosquito nets while they are protecting us.  We call them our “sleeping” watchmen.

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
