We got about 90% of the receipts entered and the book work done.  We would have finished all of it but we kept getting interrupted.

Abdulai Fuseni, a double amputee, called Mr. Iddrisu this morning and said that he wanted to see us.  He said that he had a welcome back to Ghana gift for us and he needed us to come and pick it up.   When we got to his house he had a dozen big yams for us.  He said that they were grown on his brother’s farm.  Abdulai’s brother would love for us to come and visit him but he lives a long way away from Yendi.  We thanked him kindly for the gift.  He appealed for money to buy additional things for his store.  He sells a variety items, batteries, flashlights, matches, sugar, tea and coffee.  His business sustains his life and he does not have to beg which makes us happy.  Steve gave him 150 Cedis for his business; that is about 30 dollars.  He was so pleased with the gift!

Shortly after lunch Divine stopped by for a visit.  He brought the school chairman of the PTA at Kpamang.  We decided to go to town and buy the water drum that we promised the school.  Divine needed to buy a new engine for his motor king (3 wheel utility vehicle with a cargo bed on the back).  On the way to buy the water drum we passed by his mechanic and he loaded the new engine into the back of the truck.  We also went out to Kulkpeni to check to see how much sand Divine had left from his building project.  Divine is building a cement block house in Kulkpeni near Timothy’s house.  While we were in Kulkpeni the PTA chairman bought a case of herbicide for his rice farm.  When we got back to town Divine intended to load the engine, weed killer and everything else they bought on the back of the motorcycle plus he the PTA chairman had to have a place to ride.  Steve took pity on them and said that we would carry all the stuff out to Kpamang for them.  We stopped by the mission house and picked up the 2 large cook pots we bought earlier in the week and a couple of Dagomba Bibles.  On the way to Kpamang we pass by the village of Kulkpanga.  The brothers at Kulkpanga asked for Dagomba Bibles last time when we visited them.  James was happy we remembered the Bibles.  By the time we got back to Yendi it was dark.

This morning we set Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo to ironing the fabric scraps that we got yesterday.  We set 2 ironing boards up outside with a table on each side for them to put the ironed pieces on.  They chatted all day long and got about 1/3 of the scraps ironed.

Nazo told us that they accused a woman in his area of being a witch.  He said that the case went before the chief and she is being driven out of the community.  She might have to go to one of the witch camps or she might be allowed to move to another area; it just depends upon the seriousness of the case.  Supposedly she was trying to kill a young man that lives near Nazo.  Of course all this takes place in the astral world.  The young man fell sick and with the help of the soothsayer and the Muslim Imam he was able to identify the lady that was trying to kill him.  I feel sorry for the lady whose life they have ruined with the accusations.  Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo believe all this stuff even though they do not participate in it because they are Muslims.

Take care and please keep us and the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
