We are so excited that our oldest grandson Taylor was baptized.  He called us at 1:00 in the wee hours of the morning but we did not mind getting a wakeup call for such joyous news!  I told him that now he was not only our grandson but he was also our brother!

Steve hacked on the trees again today.  Our clean up was a little easier because Nazo the day man was here to help us.  Before he started hauling brush we had him spray the yard around the mission house and Child Center for weeds because it was getting too bushy and snakes like bushy areas!  He sprayed it a couple weeks ago but he must not have mixed the spray correctly because it did not kill anything!  It did not even make the grass die.  We tried to figure out what he did wrong but he just kept insisting that he did it correctly and that one time when he was a young man he worked for a cotton farmer and his job was spraying the cotton so he knows how to mix the chemicals.  Today he used the same chemical and we read the instruction on the back panel and showed him exactly how much spray to use.  By mid morning the grass had wilted and started turning brown.  I think it will die this time.

The Yendi town planners have made all the buses move to a new bus stop.  The bus stop is a couple miles outside of town.  It is really too far for people to walk especially if they are carrying something.  Today Divine stopped at the mission house on his way to the bus stop to go to Tamale.  He wanted to leave his motorcycle here while he was in Tamale.  We felt sorry for him and drove him out to the bus stop.  He was going back to Tamale to take some exam for his distant learning class.

Tichak’s new used bicycle was not ready when we went to pick it up this morning. The mechanic said that he had not had a chance to work on it yet because someone in his neighborhood died this morning and they had to go to bury her.  He said that it was an old lady.

Last night Timothy Niligrini woke us up to see if we had any ASV (anti-snake venom medicine).  A young girl at Binalado had gotten bitten on her hand and the family wanted to know if ASV was available.  Steve told them that the hospital had plenty and that it was supposed to be free but if they got there and there was a charge for the ASV he would help them with the cost.  The girl had been bitten last year which could mean that she has a bit of a resistance built up.  Timothy called a couple more times to give us updates.  The girl was discharged this morning.  ASV was available at the hospital.

Take care and have a great day!  Feel free to share the Yendi Notes with anyone that might be interested in the work.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
