When we went to check on the building at Kulkpeni this morning the mason tried to get Steve to finish paying him because he said that he was going to get all the work finished today. He really wanted Steve to pay him so Steve didn’t have to make another trip out to Kulkpeni. Steve assured him that he did not mind coming out. Steve wanted to make sure that the work was mostly finished before paying him. The second time we went to Kulkpeni all of the blocks had been laid and the only thing left was setting of the doors and filling the veranda poles with cement. The mason said that he was going to come tomorrow after he went to church to do those jobs. The mason is a Konkomba; traditionally Konkombas are not Muslims; they are mostly pagans who have been introduced to Christianity. The Konkomba tribe is where we get converts from.
The building is looking good. Timothy got an estimate for the roof and the supply list of the materials that will be needed. Putting on the roof is the next thing we will do to the building. Timothy has been such a blessing on this project. He has been overseeing it each step of the way!
I am still struggling with the quilt top! I thought I finished it last night but after I set the last setting square in place the quilt would not lay flat! Please! Today I took off all the setting triangles; remeasured and started sewing them back on. I am hopeful that I fixed my problem; I will know before I go to bed. My biggest problem is that I do not have a pattern for this quilt so it is a lot of trial and error; more error than anything!
It has rained off and on all day; but the funny thing is that it has not been raining in Kulkpeni which is only about 5 miles away! Since there has been no rain in Kulkpeni today the masons have been able to keep working. When we left Kulkpeni a couple of the masons asked for a ride into Yendi and we also picked up 2 ladies that were walking to Yendi. They were happy to get a lift!
Thank you for all you do!

Did I tell you that I like to watch TV? Well, I do! There are some really interesting things on TV. I especially like to watch shows with animals! Whenever I see a horse, dog or cat on the TV, I sound an alarm to let the parents know that danger is lurking! I stand up and make a clicking noise. Mom tries to calm me down and tells me that they are not real but I don’t believe her; I can see them with my own 2 eyes and they are as real as real can be! The animals that really upset me are the birds! When a bird flies across the screen I duck for cover! You know that birds can grab up little guys like me and carry them off! I don’t even sound an alarm when I see a bird; I just run for cover! Sometimes Dad watches TV shows that have lots of noise, fighting and guns. I am always interested in these shows but Mom says that they make me wild and combative. I have no idea what combative means but I can tell that she does not think it is a good thing! They do make me rowdy! I jump from Mom to Dad and them back again when things get really heated! Mom likes to watch shows that are funny and have “kissing” in them! Yuck!
I scratched Dad with my fingernails today; it was an accident. Mom said that she was going to look at my nails and see if they needed to be filed. I sure hope so; I just love a manicure and a pedicure! I love when Mom puts the Shea butter lotion on my hands and feet! She usually puts it on my face and ears! I just love the attention; it sort of puts me in a trance; sometimes it puts me to sleep!
Do you want to join me for a day at “Ms. Kandie’s Spa”?
