We just got back from Tamale. We left around 9:00 this morning. It takes about 1 ½ hours to get to Tamale. We were mostly successful today. The first time we stopped at the bank the wire transfer was not there but we stopped again just before we left Tamale to double check and were happy when they told us it had come through.
The land papers that had to be corrected were also ready for us to pickup and the auditor finally had the receipt for the filing of the annual audit and a copy of the actual audit. That is taken care of for another year!
We found out that there was a problem with the paper tray on the used copier that we bought a couple weeks ago. Obviously someone had broken off the clips that allow the paper tray to be adjusted for different sizes of paper. We did not notice the problem until we needed to make some copies on legal paper. Whoever fixed the copier was pretty clever. He used screws to hold the guides in place for a standard sheet of paper (British size). The problem is we still have lots of American paper that my dad shipped over here and the American paper is a little bit wider and shorter than British paper. We took the tray back to the guy we bought it from to see if he could find us a paper tray that could be adjusted. He said they had a warehouse full of used copiers but it would take him a little while to sort though and see if he could find another tray. We will probably be going back to Tamale on Monday so we will stop and see if he was able to find one. If not we will buy British paper and only use the copier for standard copies which is the bulk of our copying.
We wanted to buy tires and tubes for the church leaders and evangelists bicycles but we did not get the money from the bank in time to buy them; another thing to add to our list for Monday.
We did get to eat lunch at SWAD; and outdoor restaurant that is run by the East Indians. We have been eating there for years and the food is always delicious. Steve will get no supper tonight! Ha!
Please keep us and the work in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
