We left Huntsville for Ghana on the 10th with our great-nephew Jack Reynolds and his Aunt Dahlia Reynolds (our niece). Jack has been here before; when he found out Dahlia was coming he decided to come too. Jack flew from Huntsville to JFK with us. We met up with Dahlia in the JFK airport. About an hour before it was time to board we found out that Jack’s multiple re-entry visa had expired. We thought it was valid and so did several of the ticket agents. The problem is that the expiration date listed on the visa is the passport’s expiration date; not the visa’s expiration date. Plan “B” went into effect. Plan “B” was to purchase another ticket for Jack to fly back to the D.C. area where his grandparents live and get a new visa from the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington. Jack had to spend the night in JFK’s airport. The rest of us flew on to Accra. We had business to do in Accra so we waited for Jack to arrive. We headed up toward Yendi on Saturday.
We spent Saturday night in Kumasi and worshipped with the Accra Road Church of Christ on Sunday. The Bible class teacher had an excellent lesson encouraging us to self examine ourselves to see what kind of worker for the Lord we are. It was great to be a part of the worship service.
We were happy that Barry Smith, a deacon from the Madison Church of Christ in Alabama, was able to come to Yendi to visit us. Barry taught the monthly evangelists’ / church leaders’ class. He taught on Thursday afternoon as well as Friday. Thirty men were present for the class. We really appreciated Barry coming. It is a real shot- in- the -arm for the men to have a guest speaker from the states.
Kandie, Dahlia, Jack, and Red arrived at the church building at noon on class day with the van loaded so we could start the trip down to Kumasi. We needed to be in Kumasi on Saturday for the funeral of Sister Comfort Obeng (wife of the late Samuel B. Obeng). She died the 11th of December 2019. The Obeng family has been near and dear to our hearts for decades; we wanted to show our respect to the family. Barry was also able to meet up with some of the church brothers who had come to the funeral.
Some of you may not know that Brother Jimmy Stroud and his wife Mary are retiring from the Ghana bookkeeping work because of Jimmy’s health. The decision was made through the Eldership at West Hobbs Street to have our son Jordan Taylor and his wife Lindsay do the bookkeeping for the work. The contributions for the Ghana Mission Fund can be sent to the Eldership at West Hobbs Street Church for depositing. Be sure to earmark your check as to where you want your money to be used if you have a preference, please.

We want to thank Jimmy and Mary for the years and years they kept the books. They started working with Royce and Cindy, and then they inherited us. Many thanks go out to both of them for their faithful service. Please keep them in your prayers.
Our thanks are extended to all of our supporters for their continuous financial and spiritual generosity for the work in Yendi since our arrival in 2001. Without God’s help and everyone providing for the work we could not get the job done. May God be given all the praise and glory. Amen!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
