We have been enjoying our family, friends and our time home.  We have had time to rest and recharge our batteries.  Our time home has flown by.  We enjoy getting to visit with congregations and individuals that contribute to our success in Yendi.

On occasion people will ask us what else we do while back in the states.  This time we have visited Kandie’s brother Buz who lives in Houston Texas.  Buz suffers from ALS (Lou Gehrig Disease).  We had a wonderful visit with him and his family.  His disease is progressing but he is in good spirits and still able to get to go to church. We covet your prayers for him and his family.

Going to Camp Ney-A-Ti is one of the high lights of our summer.  We love Limestone Bible Camp.  We helped at both the mini-camp session and the full-camp session.  Of course it makes it even more fun when all 6 of our grandchildren are attending.

It took 3 weeks to build a 16ft X 40ft deck on the back of our daughter Charity and son-in-law Marcus’ house.  It turned into a family affair.  There was a lot of “sweat equity” put into that project!  This summer was a hot one in north Alabama.  It was quite the undertaking considering there were 6 children to be watched while we worked.

We visited many of the congregations that support the work to let them know how much we appreciate their help.  It is always enjoyable to meet new people and get reacquainted with those that have been actively supporting the work for years.

I had the pleasure of talking with our fellow worker Timothy Niligrini a few days ago.  He sends his greetings to everyone.  Timothy travels around and visits the congregations while we are in the states.  He also teaches the monthly class for the evangelists/church leaders in my absence.   Timothy said the brothers reported twelve villages were visited in June.  There were seventeen baptisms and three people restored to the Church during the month of June and thirty men that attended the class.  In July twenty-five were present for the monthly classes.  Twelve more churches were visited and those that were restored to the Church numbered five and three precious souls put Christ on in baptism.

Timothy said that Nana Bekum, one of the evangelists, was not able to attend class in June or July because he has been sick.  Nana is one of our older evangelists.  Timothy said he is so weak that he has to walk with the aid of a cane.  We do not know what is going on with him; we are anxious to get back and check and possible get him the proper medical care.   Nana lives about 2 ½ hours away from Yendi in a remote village.  There is a small clinic near him so medical care is limited.  Please keep Nana in your prayers!

It is time for us to return to Yendi.  We have purchased airline tickets and Lord willing we will be leaving on August 22nd. We have four extra pieces of luggage to take in with us.  I think AWA (Africa World Airlines) the domestic airline that takes us from Accra to Tamale enjoys seeing us coming so they can get the extra luggage fees; although their fees are not nearly as pricey as the extra luggage on Delta’s international flight.

We thank all of you for your continued support of the work. We are a team working for the Lord!  Please keep us in your prayers as we travel.  Don’t forget to check out the website at:   www.ghanamissionfund.org

Our daughter-in-law, Melissa worked on the website and upgraded it, she is doing a fantastic job.

In His service,
