YENDI NOTES MONTHLY
OCTOBER 2018

We apologize for October’s report being sent out so late. For the most part it was due to the passing of my oldest brother Jim (James) at the end of the month. We made an emergency trip back to the states for the funeral. We spent 2 weeks in the states. We could have taken our leave a little early but we needed to get back for the seminar. We would also like to thank everyone for the condolences that were extended to us and Jim’s family. I look forward to seeing him again in eternity.

During the month of October we were able to visit the congregations at Nanjuni, Salinkuka, Kulkpeni and Bitamondo. This month I preached a lesson called “The Unchanging God” in which I used a padlock and key to illustrate how God’s salvation (padlock) will not open if we file down Jesus’ word (key). Everyone loves the illustration and it becomes very clear that God is always the same.

At Salinkuka we were surprised when a nearby denominational church set in on our question and answer session after services. We always enjoy answering questions the audiences brings up. The visitors even had some questions for us.

In our absence Timothy visited the church at Sobobito. They had some questions about polygamy. Many of the denominations allow polygamy. Polygamy is legal in Ghana and the Muslims are allowed to have as many as 4 wives at a time.

At the monthly class most of my time was spent discussing the specifics of the upcoming seminar, setting the schedule and nailing down the topics. All of the men that attended classes were given a nice used suit coat and two neck ties as gifts. The men were so surprised and so pleased to get the clothes. I also distributed the invitation letters for the seminar. The church leaders will hand deliver them. Last year 450 adults and 75 children attended the seminar. The seminar is the highlight of Church members’ year. Many of them save and plan all year for this event.

The men reported that ten people were baptized into Christ this month and four were restored to the Church. There were thirty-three men present for the class.

We would like to take time to thank all of you that support the work. People at home thank us for doing the work but really without your support we could not do the work! “It takes all of us working together to get the job done.”

Our friend Jimmy Stroud has been having some major health problems; we ask that you keep him and his sweet wife Mary in your prayers. They do so much of the “behind the scenes” work so we can be here in Yendi.

Have a good day and may God bless!!!

In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
