We got up earlier than normal this morning so we could start the process of washing the corn and soy beans. The sun was shining brightly today which made it a perfect day for drying the corn and soy beans. We also washed clothes today. The lighter weight things were dry in an hour.

Something is wrong with the front wheel on the green truck so we took it to Gomda the mechanic this morning. Whatever he needed to make the repair could not be found in Yendi. Gomda said he will go to Tamale tomorrow to buy it.

Steve, Jack, Meri and Zorash ran the Child Center short-handed today because Mr. Iddrisu and I were working on the payroll for the next couple months. We worked until after the Child Center was closed this morning. Steve took pity on us and went into town and bought lunch for us from the fast food lady. Jack and I had okra slime stew with Banku (fermented corn dough ball) and Steve had rice with oil and tomatoes.

The building at the mission house has mildew because we have had so much rain. We tried something new this afternoon. We put bleach in the garden sprayer and sprayed the sides of the buildings. It partially worked. There seems to be two different things growing on the buildings; the bleach lightened the green stuff but did not do anything to the dark stuff but it does look better.

Jack drove the motor king to town this afternoon and hauled a couple loads of podiums to the painter. The painter said he wants to wait until he has a “sizeable” number of podiums before he paints them.

It has started raining heavily so I am going to close before the electricity goes off and I lose everything I have written. Take care and have a great day!

In His Service,

Jack, Steve and Kandie
