As soon as we got up this morning I put in a load of clothes, before the rinse cycle started it began to rain.  I wanted to wash a bunch of clothes today but where to hang them is a problem when it rains.  We do not have a working dryer and even if we had a dryer it probably would cost too much to run!  You know how cheap I am!  Why run a dryer when God has given us all this sunshine for FREE!

Only a few mothers came to the Center this morning.  When it rains most people stay inside.  The ladies that work for us did not come today either because of the rain.  Meri has to walk to work and Amama and Zorash both ride motor scooters so it is difficult when it rains.  Mr. Iddrisu arrived before it started raining or he would probably not have shown up until this afternoon after the rain stopped.  Even though we did not have many babies in the Center we still enjoyed visiting with Mr. Iddrisu.  We got to talking about the Fetish priest, Juju, witch craft and such.  It is all very interesting.  I took a page of notes to add to my every growing cultural information.

Today is Yendi’s big market day.  After the rain stopped we took Mr. Iddrisu with us to the market and bought the beans, oil, and weaning mix that we need for the Child Center.  They had run out of almost everything.  They have not been able to make weaning mix because it is cooked outside on an open fire and it has been raining almost every day.  We bought some from one of the vendors in the market to tide us over until we can get some roasted.

While we were in the market we ran into Divine, the evangelist from Kpamang.  If you remember Kpamang is the village that we helped dig a dam during the dry season last time we were in Ghana.  He said the dam is completely full and the village is so happy about all the water it has collected.

It is past time for supper and I am hungry!  But then what is new?  Take care and have a great day!  Keep us in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
