As soon as we got back from our walk this morning we headed to town to look for the water proofing paint. We were in luck this morning. The lady had found the paint but she had some bad news for us. One of the 5 gallon buckets of paint broke open on the trip up from Accra and rain out inside the driver’s vehicle. The paint is like a rubbery tar. I sure would hate to know I had 5 gallons of that mess in my vehicle. I have no idea how you would begin to clean it up. We had not paid for the paint so we did not have to eat that loss. The lady called to see if they could get us some more but they did not have any more in the warehouse. Red said that there was a guy in Tamale that called him and he is supposed to have found some in Tamale. We have to go to Tamale next week. By next week Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo should have used the 15 gallons we got today and we should have a good idea of how many more we need to finish the job.
Today was a holiday; actually yesterday was the holiday but the workers were off today. Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo picked Saturday for their day off so they were here this morning. We were happy that Mr. Iddrisu was here because we had several orphans come to get formula this morning. Steve said that is the thing about holidays, someone forgot to tell the babies that it was a holiday and they still have to be fed.
The laptop has a glitch; it will not let us use the “sent to” feature to transfer files from the computer to the memory stick or from file to file. The computer comes up with a message that window explorer is shutting down; it shuts down and comes right back on without transferring the file. It won’t let us copy and paste either but it will still let us cut and paste. I spent last night and all morning cutting and pasting files to a memory stick in case the problem gets worse and the computer locks up completely. Once I got everything off the computer Steve reloaded Microsoft Office but it did not solve the problem. We are pretty computer illiterate; we will bring the laptop home with us and let someone look at it that actually knows something about computers.
Steve worked on a new set of lessons for the workers Continuing Education class. This set is very interesting; it is about all traditional medicine. We have been collecting the traditional medical practices for many years. Steve is going to use the information and discuss what works and what does not work and why it won’t work. They have lots of strange ideas that are passed down from generation to generation.
Thank you for your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
