By 8:30 this morning I had two loads of washing done and recycled the rinse water to be used for flushing the toilets and watering our tree. We started growing this tree last year from a branch that was broken off from a tree in our neighborhood. We planted it on the other side of the concrete slabs where the shipping containers are resting. I wish I knew the name of the tree but I have been told it grows in Hawaii and the tropics. It has a nice sweet smell coming from the star shaped clusters of white blossoms that have a golden yellow center. It is blooming now and is a sight for sore eyes in this dry reddish brown environment.
As soon as I had the clothes hung up on the clothes line I started working on a box of charts from the Child Center that I started working on in the late afternoon yesterday. I worked on the charts for most of the day and I still have some left that I will have to try to finish tomorrow after getting back from the bush.
It must have been about 9:30- 10:00 this morning I started hearing a loud machine noise coming from our neighbors across the tall wall on the east side of the house. It didn’t take long for me to recognize it was a well drilling rig. I felt sorry for the folks having the drilling done because all the wells around us, including our well, have gone dry for some time but whether you hit water or dig a dry hole you are usually expected to pay the drillers.
After lunch Papa Zacharia came by to get his monthly pay. He sat out under the tree and talked with Nazo for some time. Then around 1pm the door bell rang and it was Nazo. He had told me earlier this morning he would have his son Zimblim show me how his skin rash treatment was progressing. I have to admit I was very surprised to see how his legs and arms are looking so much better. I’m sure the boy is happy for the relief.
I continued to do my charting until 5pm when I called it “quits” and took a stroll around the block. Then it was time for supper. During the course of the day I talked with Kandie on my cell phone. She is trying to get everything ready at home for her departure on Thursday for Ghana. Please keep her in your prayers that she will have a safe flight to Accra.
For your information we had a cool day here in Yendi with the high temperature only reaching 104oF . It took about 2 hours for all the clothes to dry which included my blue jeans.
Well, I hope you have a great day and enjoy the weekend if you can. May God bless!
In His service,
Stephen Taylor
