I did not get a final count on the number of babies and children that came through the Child Center this morning to get a set of clothes but we gave out more than 90 sets. We were tired at the end of the morning and Zorash had to get to the bank by 1:00; I will find out what the end total was and let you know tomorrow.

Timothy Kunja, one of the church leaders from Kulkpeni stopped by this morning to ask us to help him preform the final funeral of either his mother-in-law or his mother. We do not like to get mixed up in the funerals because they can run into the 1,000’s of dollars. He said that he wanted to borrow enough money to buy a pig. He said that last market day in Sambu he tried to sell his black-eyed peas but no one wanted them. We decided that we would buy the peas from him so he would have enough money to buy a pig. He is supposed to bring the peas to us tomorrow night at Kulkpeni. We will regift the peas. Of course, we will keep a few to eat but there is no way we can eat 50 pounds of black-eyed peas!

Dawda, the mason that built the wall around the mission property stopped by for a visit this morning too. He did not tell us what he wanted because he could see that we were very busy. Red and his helper were working on the Monkey Condo so he just stood around and visited with them. We suspect that he wants to borrow money for the big Muslim celebration that is coming off on the 27 of May. Sometimes if he is actively working for us, he will take an advance on his labor but right now we are not doing any masonry projects so he will be out of luck if he asks.

Mr. Adams, the fix-it man also stopped by this morning; he was surprised that we were so busy! He was in the area and he stopped to say hello.

The lady with the mentally delayed 9-month-old child that we met in Nalongni on Sunday came to the Center this morning. This is the baby that cannot hold up her head. We promised her that if she came to the Center, we would get her a baby walker for her little girl. She came shortly after the Center opened so I went to town to see if I could buy one but both of the places that sell them were closed. The mother did not mind waiting until the store opened. Steve went to town and bought one but it had a bolt missing. Steve found one that would work. The mother was happy when she left!

This afternoon Steve went to town and bought more formula; we need to leave enough formula and other supplies to cover the time that we are not in Ghana. We counted the formula that we used last month and we did not have enough so Steve bought more. He will still have to buy a few more cases.

Take care and enjoy your day!

The Monkeyshines

I am getting smarter every day! My favorite toy of all times is “Frogger”. I have tons of toys but I know which one is Frogger. When Mom asks me, “Where is Frogger?” I can go to the pile of toys, pick him out and take him to her. After I have properly killed him, I throw him and then she throws him back to me and I proceed to killing him all over again! It is great fun! I am not very good at throwing yet; there is no telling where Frogger is going to land! But let’s get real; Mom is a terrible thrower too! I have to jump to the moon to catch her throws! I know that with more practice I will get better at the throwing thing but there is no hope for Mom!

The guys started putting the roof on my Condo today! They are struggling because they never made a Condo before and they are working way up in the air. Fortunately, the tree that is inside the Condo has lots of strong branches that they can use as a ladder and to stand on. Mom tells everyone that is climbing not to fall because we do not have time to go to the hospital today! Maybe tomorrow but not today!

I have started pulling Mom’s hair when I am not happy with her! Sometimes I just do it for fun; she does not think that it is fun or funny! You know that is going to get me in trouble but it is better than biting!

I am just grooming her! Ha!
