The best laid plans are not always able to come true and this morning was one of those times. When Timothy Niligrini arrived at 7:30 this morning, I had the green pickup all ready for us. As we traveled through Yendi towards our destination of Bungbali, located near Saboba, we searched for breakfast food along the road as we usually do for Timothy. I guess the women were tired of getting up early due to the Ramadan season because we found no one selling breakfast. Timothy ended up having to purchase some cookies and a soft drink from a small kiosk. We were about 8 miles out of Yendi when I noticed the front end acting funny. Shorty after this happened, I realized we had a flat tire. Yesterday, as Kandie and I were taking our walk, Kandie said she was surprised that we had not had a flat tire since we arrived in Yendi this year. Well, that record was shattered! The problem we encountered was the hydraulic jack was too tall to get under the front axle. I maneuvered the truck over a small ditch on the side of the road to where I could get the jack set under the truck. With Kandie and Timothy’s help we dug out enough dirt under the wheel area so I could fit the good tire back on the axle and attach the lug nuts. By the time we accomplished this the time was nearly 9:00 am. We made contact with Brother Edward, at Bungbali, and told him about the delay. At this time of the year the sun is really beating down at 11:00 am so Edward said we needed to reschedule our visit in the very near future. We will do that.
We drove back to the compound and dropped off Timothy so he could drive his motorcycle back to Kulkpeni. Kandie and I drove out to Kulkpeni as well so we could attend services because bible class would just be starting. That plan worked out for us. After services I explained why we showed up at services.
This afternoon Brother Divine called and said that 2 brothers from Kpamang Church were coming to visit. When they arrived ,they presented a letter from the Church asking for matching funds for cement to build concrete blocks for several rooms on the existing church building. They already had purchased a load of sand so we provided money for 30 bags of cement.
Hope you had a good Lord’s Day. Thanks for your support! May God bless!
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
