The plan was for us to pick up the ladies at the roundabout just near the mission house and take them to Kulkpeni this morning to help the mason on the building.  We were supposed to pick them up at 7:30.  Divine arrived at the mission house shortly after 7:00 so Steve went in search of the ladies.  A little while later he came back because he could not find the women.  Tomorrow will be easier because we will know where to pick up the workers.

Divine had a successful trip to Tamale and he came back with both the 2022 and 2023 documents.  We now have to have the church leaders come in to complete the forms.  Divine said that he did not get to Tamale last night until after 11:00 pm because the  bus he was riding in had a flat tire and obviously did not have a spare.  He said that he had to wait until they called a taxi to come and get them.  Of course the passengers had to pay for the taxi.  He spent the night at the auditor’s house; he said that they talked most of the night.  He was tired and was going home to rest.

After Divine left Dawda, the mason called to let us know that the ladies really were at the roundabout and ready for us to pick them up.   By the time we found the women it was 8:30.  We picked up a couple more workers and a wheelbarrow as we drove to Kulkpeni.

As we were driving we noticed a semi-truck loaded with 220 pound bags of dried red onions.  Even though we were loaded with people we wanted to buy a bag of onions.  Steve pulled up alongside the semi and the men rolled a bag of onions off of the semi onto the luggage rack of the old van.  The top of the sack was not closed very well and we lost a few onions on the way but we stopped and picked them up.  When we got back to the mission house Mr. Iddrisu and Donkey climbed up on the top of the van and off loaded the onions.  We will share them with the workers and evangelists.

The mason’s got about half of the walls put up today.  The building looks nice.  It is a long building with 4 rooms.  The rooms can be used for classrooms as well as sleeping quarters for the seminar.  Red made metal doors and windows for the rooms but he had to rework them because Dawda said that they needed to be a little taller so the top will line up exactly with a row of blocks.  Red is going to rework them before he sprays them.

The guy that was supposed to come tomorrow to mold more blocks could not come but one of the mason’s knew another man that molded blocks; he is going to check and see if he can mold them for us.

Thank you for all your help!

Skeeter’s Monkey Business

What do you know about this “Hand Sanitizer”?  I think that it is dangerous!  It can’t be good for a baby monkey like me!  It is full of Ethyl alcohol!  No one should have alcohol!  Besides, alcohol will make you go blind!  There is no place in this world for a blind baby monkey!  Mom seems to have a thing for “Hand Sanitizer”.  When I come in from my forced time outside she grabs that bottle and chases me down.  All the time talking so sweetly to me, “Let’s get those nasty hands cleaned.  You don’t know what sort of germs you have picked up!”  Well I never wanted to go outside in the first place.  When I get out of bed, when my hands are sticky from eating mango, you just never know when that bottle will appear.  She has a bottle in the bathroom, on the dining room table, in the bedroom, in the kitchen and there is even on the counter above my basket /cage.  I need help!  Someone please send me information about the dangers of “Hand Sanitizer”!

Speaking of tragic things, this morning Mom caught my arm in the screen door.   She thought that I was staying outside with Dad; really she should have known that if I had a chance of being inside or outside I would always choose inside.  I hollered and then I walked around holding my arm with my other hand; I got a lot of attention from hurting myself.  Mom sat in the big chair and held me.  I could have milked the situation longer if I could have sat still but I had to start romping around and she figured out that I was not really hurt.  I will do better next time!

I had the best time today.  I did not have to spend much time in the Child Center because I was helping Mom sort rotten onions.  They bought a humongous bag of dried onion this morning. The onions were poured out on a tarp and the dried onion skins were everywhere.  It was like jumping in a pile of leaves!  We were not only picking out the rotten onions, we were also sorting the onions by size.  I figured out that when we got a bucket full of onions I could jump in the bucket and use my back feet to kick out a few of the onions.  I then would make a mad dash to the other side of the room so Mom could not reach me!  We will share the onions with the evangelists and the workers tomorrow!  I don’t like some of the workers so I don’t really care if we share with them.

Hope you had as much fun today as I did!
