Red and one of his helpers came to the mission house this morning; they were on a motorcycle. Red was driving and his helper was carrying a 4 inch 25-foot-long metal pole. Talk about dangerous! The pole was one of the poles for the monkey’s new enclosure. I told Red that he should have come and gotten the motorking; he laughed and said that it was not necessary. He brought the pole to check to see what we thought about the length and to make sure where we wanted the cross beams to go. This morning we laid out the monkey house; it took us a while to mark where the holes were going to be dug; it would not have been so hard if we had made the enclosure square but I wanted to have an octagon shaped house. Now that the tree we are enclosing is not in the center of the room, it was even more difficult because the tree was in the way. After we got everything marked Steve started digging the holes for the poles. The ground was so hard because we have had no rain in a long time so he started the holes and then we watered them and waited until after lunch to finish digging. The high temperature today was 109 degrees. At least Steve was working in the shade!
When Steve went out this afternoon to buy the cement he ran into Divine. He asked Divine if the paperwork for the churches had been filed yet; he said that he presumed they had been filed but he did not know for sure. He said that his phone was on charge and that he would call later this afternoon and see what was going on with them.
Red told us that he was annoyed when he saw how Donkey had butchered the tree that we were going to use for Skeeter’s new home so he asked him why he cut the tree. Donkey told Red the same thing that he told us; the tips of the branch were dying so he cut it off and he cut the ones below it off so that he could reach the upper branches. Red said he talked roughly to him! Red always has our back!
The electricity has been on and off all day! It was going on and off last night too. They are supposed to have doubled the size of the transformer that feeds our area but it seems like the electricity is more unstable now than it was before they brought the new transformer. Zorash said that she heard that it is not fully functional yet. Steve filled up a couple 5-gallon Jerri cans with diesel so we will have plenty in case it stays off for a long time.
Enjoy your week-end!

The activity around my jail cell is making me very nervous! Red, and that friend of his and that motorcycle, came barreling into the compound this morning! Red parked his motorcycle under my mango tree! Not a very smart man! As soon as they turned their backs, I was up on the motorcycle turning knobs, pushing buttons, trying to remove the key; chewing on the cable, looking at my reflection and picking at the hole in the seat. There was so much to look at and play with; I could have spent the whole day tearing that motorcycle apart! Then Dad saw me and my fun was over! Dad thought that he could holler at me and make me jump off the motorcycle but that was not happening! I was having too much fun! He had to come and physically remove me from the motorcycle and still Red did not see the need to move the motorcycle; Red thought I looked cute sitting on the motorcycle looking like I was going to drive off on it! Mom finally told Red to move the motorcycle; she did not want to have to pay for something I tore up!
Then Red’s friend told Mom that he was going to come back and climb up in the mango tree! She let him know in no uncertain terms that no one was allowed to climb in the mango tree. He wanted to climb in the tree so he could knock down all the mangoes and take them home with him! Really! If he did that, what would the rest of us have to eat?
Keep your grubby hands off my mangoes!
Love, Skeeter
