The high temperature today was 118 degrees.  We did not have much humidify today so the heat index was also 118 degrees.  It was still very hot!

We had bunches of visitors today.  Divine, the evangelist stopped by to pick up the money for another 55 gallons of fuel for the bulldozer that will be digging the dam in Kpamang.  Aliu, the young man we helped get an artificial leg brought a friend of his to introduce to us.  Red, our part time driver stopped by after he finished hauling gravel this afternoon and Mr. Oldman our neighbor stopped by for a visit and to help us get a load of water for the building project.  The mason is coming tomorrow to start making the platform for the new poly tank to sit on.  We hope that the additional poly tank will help solve our water problem.   We plan on harvesting rain water during the rainy season to use during the dry season.

This afternoon Steve, Nazo and Mr. Iddrisu made several trips to town to buy and haul the cement blocks, sand, and cement that the mason will need tomorrow for the platform.  It was so hot that they were exhausted by the time they got the stuff unloaded.  They still have to make one more trip to get the rest of the cement blocks.  They plan on doing that first thing in the morning before it gets too hot.  It was 89 degrees when we got up this morning but that is definitely cooler than 118 degrees.

Today was Yendi’s big market day and of course even though it was hot I had to go to the market.  How could I miss my first market day back in Yendi?  We found some nice produce and also a strange furry fruit that we have never seen or tried before.  The lady that was selling the fruit promised that it was very “sweet”!  They were so enthusiastic about the fruit that we went ahead and bought some. The old lady that sells cashew fruit and cannot speak English lended her assistance in helping us pick out the best fruit.  Since we do not know how to eat it we will show it to the ladies that work in the Child Center tomorrow and see if it needs to be washed, peeled or what.

Paul and I made a trip to town this afternoon to find a new SIM card for the modem for his computer.  We were successful and his computer is up and running again and he can send emails to his wife.

Thank you for the prayers and support!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
