Zorash, the Child Center receptionist, told us that her neighbor was killed in a freak accident.  He was electrocuted.  He has a small business next to her grinding mill.  He has a power washer and washes motorcycles and vehicles.  The power lines run right over his outdoor washing station.  He was washing a motorcycle and he allowed the water to spray up and hit the power lines.  I guess the electricity followed the stream of water and killed him.  Zorash said that she heard his wife screaming and ran to see what had happened.  So terribly sad!  Many times the man had several young men helping him.  It is a good thing that they were not helping him that day or more people would have been hurt.

Steve said they had a good class today with 40 in attendance.  Several of the congregations in the Nanumba district were not able to come to class because it was raining heavily in their area and by the time the rain stopped it was too late to come to class.  They will pick up the account book for the church next month.  Divine, the evangelist, has been to training college and studied accounting.  He was the teacher today.  Divine said that the class was wonderful!

After class Francis and Lot, the treasurer from Duuni, stopped by the mission house.  The church made an appeal for a “white board” to use while teaching class.  Steve gave them the money for the white board and we are going to take it to Duuni on Sunday.  We are not visiting Duuni on Sunday but we drive past the turn off to Duuni on our way to Nakpa.  Francis said he would be at the junction at early dawn waiting on us to pass by.  I quickly told him that we would not be passing at early dawn!  We will pass by around 8:00.  No need for him to be waiting around for nothing.

The last podium (pulpit) left the compound.  The church at Borido never got around to picking it up until now; actually I think they did not have the money for the transportation to get the podium to their village.  We were proud to get it out of the garage and I am sure the congregation is proud to have it.

When Steve got back from the class this afternoon we headed to the market.  We must not miss one of Yendi’s big market days.

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
